after almost 4 years, i weaned the boys last week. it was a sad time for all of us, but it was time. unfortunately, patrick found an alternative to mother's milk, the "mother's milk" of his ancestors! maybe this isn't funny to joke about, but on his last night of "chi-chi", this struck me as really funny.

We just had the weaning day as well. Gus' last nursey time was bed time on his fourth birthday. It has been a tough couple of days but it is nice to be done, strange, but nice. :) I didn't think to mollify him with beer! I'll have to try that. lol

Ohhhhhhhhh. . . I wish I would have picked a day. Oh, no, I guess I just would have cried. Plus I let Ezra nurse again after weaning when he had chicken pox and another time when he had a giant, fat, oreo-cookie-sized tick pulled off his head. . .
After being weaned for over a year, he asked me if he could nurse today "for special occasion" because he drank too much chocolate milk and felt like he was going to puke.
Needless to say, the occasion didn't seem special enough to me. :)
